Monkey Instinct

Deep inside the forest a man walks looking at the trees. He is a monkey catcher and he is looking for the right place to set up his trap. At a particular place he finds the trees are dense and he got his perfect spot.

He opens his bag and pulls out a small box. The opening slot of the box is very small and through this small gap he puts some nicely fried peanuts into the box. With a gentle breeze flowing, the whole place is filled with the wonderful aroma of the peanuts. He moves away from that spot and places himself behind a small bush and waits for the monkeys to come.

Within a short time a monkey jumps down from the tree and is attracted to the aroma of freshly fried peanuts. Looking here and there, the monkey makes sure that no one is watching it and slowly inserts his hand into the box through the small opening. To its joy it is able to catch hold of a fistful of the peanuts.

When he happily pulled his hand out it was not coming. The hole in the box was so small that the monkey can put his hand in straight but when he held on to the peanuts, the fist was big for the hole and it cannot pull his hand out.

If the monkey let go of the peanuts, the hand will come out but if it holds on with the peanuts then the hand would not come out. The monkey was not willing to let go of the peanuts and his hand got struck in the box. The man hiding in the bushes comes out and catches the monkey and sets his trap for the next one.

Most of us in our lives hold on to many unwanted issues which, if we let go will free us from all the stress and mental agonies to lead a life filled with happiness and bliss. But we are so conditioned that we would not let go of the peanuts from our hand.

Are you still holding on to your peanuts? Well, its time for you to let go of the peanuts and move yourself out of the trap.

The tendency of doing the same mistake again and again is ingrained in everyone and you are not alone. It is the mischief of the subconscious mind which holds the cards in the name of your habits. Habits that are good and bad, that could help our survival and that could take us down the wrong path are all implanted in the subconscious.

When we strongly hold on to some unpleasant events in our life, we tend to give them a very powerful part of our life energy and they become our reality. What we want to resist will persist. Its time to let go of these unwanted and worthless feelings and move to the next level in life. Get rid of the peanuts and move out of your trap. Harness the full power of subconscious mind to live a life of your choice.
